Youth Education
Empowering Urban Youth is an educational program designed for students attending schools in urban settings. EUY includes a curriculum that incorporates lessons focusing on compassion towards self, social justice issues, animal welfare, and environmental ethics. This program is modeled after the LiveHumanely model and includes a four-prong approach to healthy living. By seeking to live in harmony with the world around them, young adults have a sense of unity, and a sense of empowerment. Urban students are eager to engage in real-world lessons, and have a genuine passion to not only learn about the plight of people and animals, as well as the harm that is inflicted on our environment, they want to contribute their time, energy, and abilities to ease this suffering. This learning and awareness are gained through the Empowering Urban Youth curriculum. The desire for “action” on behalf of others is a crucial element of EUY, and is expressed in the form of service learning and community outreach projects.
